jusBcus : aka : Jeffrey Chavez

jusBcus-Collective Intelligence Arsenal, Bass Therapy, Desert Eaglez (Drum & Bass, Jungle, Deep House)

Jeffrey Chavez, also known as, jusBcus has been an integral part of the southwest electronic music scene, dating back to 1998. Working with Unified Culture, High Caliber Group and being a co-founder of Bass Therapy, he was focused on uniting the southwest music scene by contributing his time, effort and talent. He has always been motivated to keep the scene together and dedicated his time to unite Arizona, California, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado by focusing on bringing each states local talent to surrounding states and vice versa. He picked up his first pair of Technics turntables in the year 2000, along with his first crate of funky, deep house. He has always been a lover of all styles of electronic music, but found his passion when stumbling across the rough sounds of jungle and drum and bass at a desert rave in El Paso, Texas where he first heard Dieselboy play his signature sound, from there on out he knew his calling when it came to djing. He started his search for all the latest hard to find tracks coming out of Europe and South America, but has always had a large focus on supporting stateside drum and bass as well. He spent countless hours with his biggest musical influence, Joey De Los Santos also known as DLS learning the craft of mixing, spending hours in his studio or at the local favorite radio show Progressor X in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

After a few years’ hiatus, he is now a resident and member of Collective Intelligence Arsenal, which is based out of Cleveland, Ohio but has expanded to Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. He also proudly represents Desert Eaglez, which is a collective of local Arizona talent and still contributes time and effort to Bass Therapy in El Paso, Texas and Las Cruces, New Mexico. He is known for his selective & unique track selection with rolling basslines and vocals, his quick mixing, double and triple drops, and his ability to be a floor filler and bassbin killer. His live mixes have been internet favorites and have made appearances on drum and bass charts. You can catch jusBcus performing by himself or as part of Game Over with DJ Mojo or #TWC (Tucson Wrecking Crew) with Erratik and DJ Mojo, who are both members of Collective Intelligence Arsenal.
